ABOUT AMMER Chicken and Duck Rotisserie
In 2026, the AMMER roast chicken and duck tent will celebrate its 141st Oktoberfest and mark more than a quarter-century of pioneering organic practices at the festival. Since 1885, the family-run business has delighted guests with warm hospitality in its Art Nouveau-style tent and beer garden. Whether serving poultry classics or vegetarian, vegan, or gluten-free dishes, this tent—the second-oldest at the Oktoberfest—has been impressing visitors with its organic culinary offerings since the year 2000. As the world’s oldest roast chicken tent, AMMER embodies a blend of tradition, modernity, and social commitment. Proprietor Josef Schmidbauer runs this historic tent as a fifth-generation owner.
