ABOUT AMMER Chicken and Duck Rotisserie
The AMMER roast chicken and duck tent will celebrate its 141st Oktoberfest in 2026. This second-oldest Oktoberfest tent has been a fixture on the Theresienwiese since 1885. AMMER is the oldest roast chicken stand in the world. The family-run business switched to organic products in 2000; only organic chickens and ducks are placed on the grill. The menu also features vegetarian and vegan dishes. Josef Schmidbauer, the tent’s proprietor, runs the business in the fifth generation. The family also welcomes guests year-round at the Schlosscafé in the Palm House at Nymphenburg Palace Park.
