The Pavlakovichs – Tailoring and Jewelry Design with Soul

In a world where so much has become fast, digital, and interchangeable, they still exist – places where work is carried out with calm, dedication, and true craftsmanship. Two of these places are located right in the heart of Bad Wiessee on Lake Tegernsee. And they bear two names that have long been synonymous with quality and individuality in the region: Elisabeth Pavlakovich, master tailor, and Hartmut Pavlakovich, second-generation gold and platinum smith.

Tailored with heart and hand: Elisabeth Pavlakovich

Even as a young woman, Elisabeth Pavlakovich knew where her professional path would lead. Born and raised on Lake Tegernsee, after school she began a traditional apprenticeship with a renowned men’s tailor in Bad Wiessee – a path few choose today, but one that demands all the more in-depth craftsmanship. This was followed by years as a journeyman, the master craftsman’s examination in 1990, and finally the step into self-employment. Since 2013, she has run her own tailoring business in the center of Bad Wiessee.

What makes her work special? Custom-made, unique pieces that blend tradition and personal style. Whether classic traditional costume, a modern jacket, or everyday fashion with Bavarian charm – each garment is precisely handcrafted, tailored to the individual who will wear it. Elisabeth Pavlakovich accompanies her customers from the initial idea to the finished piece, offering loving advice, listening, and understanding what’s important. And if you have a favorite piece that may have been around for many years – she’s the right person for you, too. Alterations, repairs, and creative reworkings are also part of their repertoire.

Jewelry with character: Hartmut Pavlakovich

Just a few steps away, Hartmut Pavlakovich’s workshop sparkles – and not just because of the precious metals. For over 25 years, he has continued the family business founded by his father. With a sure sense of form, materials, and design, he creates jewelry that doesn’t have to be loud to stand out. They impress with clean lines, precise craftsmanship, and timeless elegance.

Whether platinum or gold, precious stones, pearls, or even unusual materials like wood or fur – Hartmut Pavlakovich combines classic goldsmithing techniques with surprising ideas. His custom-made belt buckles, in particular, are renowned far beyond the region – striking, unique pieces that enhance any traditional costume outfit. Each piece of jewelry is developed in collaboration with the customer, including technical drawings and intermediate views that make the creation process understandable. This way, the result is not an “off-the-shelf” product, but a unique favorite that will last a lifetime.

His work has received numerous national and international awards – a testament to the high level of craftsmanship maintained in his workshop. And yet, Hartmut Pavlakovich is, above all, one thing: a listener, a designer, a craftsman with true passion.

Craftsmanship meets attitude to life

Anyone who has ever seen Elisabeth and Hartmut Pavlakovich at work understands why true craftsmanship not only produces products, but also values. It’s about time, care, and personality, about creating something that lasts. It’s therefore no surprise that the two are now part of the new “Ogwandlt” festival at the Palmenhaus Nymphenburg – because that’s where these very values converge: quality, sustainability, and the desire for the extraordinary.

A visit to the Pavlakovichs – whether in Bad Wiessee or at one of their performances in Munich – is always a journey into true craftsmanship. And those who are lucky enough to be there immediately sense: This is more than fashion or jewelry. This is attitude. And home.
